Perfect


Seek perfection in everything
Smile at your own imperfection
Nothing is perfect from that crooked mouth
Enjoy every blemish and ghastly mistake

Giggle at those big things squandered
Snigger at the small things you overlooked
Airbrush your role models to death
Make light of their misdemeanours and digressions

Put them on pedestals tippy toe top shelf
Look up and aspire at their dizzying heights
Larger than life billboard existence
Drive past and don't want to talk about it

Rear view mirror in the way at the drive in
Watching her feet wiggle between the seats
Second toe longer than big one
Platted leather anklet granny knot

Whisky label half peeled off
Smell of fresh cigarette
T-shirts in the air
Play fighting

Kissing
Nothing but her
In the backseat
Wishing this would never end
