Molecules


I feel hopeless,

I feel free,

as if I just narrowly escaped death

yet shackled,

imprisoned, and peering through columned bars.

and as I watch the guardrail pass by me,

a blur, until I look past it,


I realize that I'm neither free nor imprisoned.


I'm just molecules.
